Tattoo 'Vision Quest'

The Chicago Renegade Craft Fair is just the first stop on an epic adventure I am coining the Vision Quest. This September, my BFF, Sara Fitz, and I are heading out to see America from the vantage point of a small car. I will be learning to drive standard and tattooing along the way!

Along the way we will be stopping near Mt Rushmore, northwestern Montana, Denver, CO, Richmond VA and Baltimore, MD. Its going to be quite the adventure and I will definitely be posting lots of stuff on Instagram (@sara_antoinette_martin) , so be sure to follow along!

Renegade Craft Fair Chicago

It has been a while since you have heard from me, I know. These days, I have been focusing my efforts and attention on tattooin', but September is going to be super awesome! Here's whats going on:

Renegade Craft Fair Chicago! 

September 7th and 8th you can find me and my little pop-up gallery, The Skelecore Tiny Gallery of Micro Art, at Chicago’s Renegade Craft Fair. Look for booth number 60, near the bathrooms!

This year I will be selling, framed, original tiny paintings all under $100. Most will be priced $20-$60.

These paintings will only be available at the Renegade Craft Fair. They will not be available for sale online, so come on out and pick out your favorite!

Halloween Flash 2012

These tattoos are a bit larger then your average tattoo special, palm sized, and I can adjust the size, within reason, to fill a space. I am also willing to add lettering and small adjustments within reason.

Maurice Sendak Tribute Flash

Maurice Sendak was one of my biggest artistic influences and probably one of the first illustrators I became aware of.  I grew up with Where the Wild Things Are along with his Pierre books and many other of his illustrated books.  When he passed away last week, I was inspired to create some wild beast flash.

Here is is.  I really love how they came out and it reminded me of how much I love drawing monsters.  I would love to tattoo some of these so come and get them at Brooklyn Tattoo!

Commissioned Tattoo Designs

 

I've been asked to create a couple of tattoo designs for people who do not live or are willing to travel to Brooklyn.  Here is one that I created for a nice guy in San Francisco.  The letters represent his wife and two children.

If you do not live in the tri-state area and are unable to travel to Brooklyn to get something actually tattooed from me, you can commission a design.  Since I am not tattooing it, I treat it as an illustration assignment. 
Rates are $150 - $400 depending on size and complexity.  You get two high res files, a stencil outline and colored illustration, to print out and bring to your reputable tattooer.  The finished design will be executed in either colored pencil or watercolor.
If you wish to purchase the finished illustration or painting, I can work that into the price.
You will be asked for half of the quoted price for a deposit.  When I finish the commission, I'll ask you for the remaining balance before sending you the files.  

I want to stress going to a reputable tattooer to get your actual tattoo.  Your tattoo will only be as good on your skin if you get it tattooed by technically skilled artist.  Don't cheap out! If you need help finding a tattooer, I may not be able to personally recommend an artist, but I'll be able to point you towards some reputable shops in your area. Of course it would be more cost effective (tattoo cost wise) to visit Brooklyn Tattoo and have me tattoo it on ya!

$40 Thanksgiving Tattoos

Starting on 11-11-11, I will be offering $40 Thanksgiving tattoos!

I had so much success with my Halloween Apprentice Special and Thanksgiving is great excuse to draw up some harvest themed flash!

Amnesty Turkey is also available to read 'TASTY'.

You can get any of the designs above for $40, tattooed by me (the apprentice) at Brooklyn Tattoo.  Starting on 11-11-11, this special is valid for through mid December.  

Please keep in mind that I am still an apprentice.  I may not be able to put the tattoo where you want it.  Its always best to come down to the shop and make an appointment!

Halloween is my favorite holiday.  The weather is perfect and there are skulls and pumpkins on everything.  I buy all my socks around Halloween for this very reason. 

In the spirit of the high holidays and in the name of getting more skin time, I am doing a Halloween special!  You can get any of the designs above for $31, tattooed by me (the apprentice) at Brooklyn Tattoo.  This special is for the whole month of October 2011!  Just to be clear, no one else at Brooklyn Tattoo is offering this special.  Its for the whole month, not just October 31st.
